Sueann Mitchell was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, where she attended St. Charles Borromeo elementary school and Bishop Dwenger High School. Sueann’s parents moved from Ft. Wayne to Spring Lake when Sueann was a Freshman at the University of Michigan. Sueann met her husband, David, while working in Spring Lake the summer between her Sophomore and Junior years at Michigan. Sueann and David were married in 1990 by Fr. Bill Langlois at St. Michael’s in Coopersville. They have four children: Eric, Vincent, Thomas and Gabrielle. Sueann and Dave’s children attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Spring Lake before attending and graduating from Muskegon Catholic High School. Sueann and Dave were parishioners at St. Mary’s before becoming members of St. Patrick-St. Anthony. Sueann was a stay-at-home mother until her youngest began school. She then worked as a newspaper reporter for the Grand Haven Tribune and was a 911 Dispatcher for Ottawa County Central Dispatch for nearly ten years before she decided to return to school and earn her law degree. Sueann is now an attorney who practices in the areas of estate planning, real estate and business law with the firm Gielow Groom Terpstra & McEvoy in Norton Shores. Sueann is the Stewardship Commission chairperson, a lector and an adoration chapel volunteer. Sueann is a member of the Spring Lake Rotary and is active in the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Sueann is an avid Michigan Football fan. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and children and reading.
