Submitted by: James Birney, CCHD Intern
The Job Seekers Program in Grand Haven, Mich., is a local grantee of the USCCB's national anti-poverty program, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Coordinated by Mark Bancuk for the past five years, the Job Seekers Program offers a plethora of services for its community members.
Located in the lower levels of St. Patrick/St. Anthony Parish, the program offers weekly employment information and preparation seminars, resume and cover letter guidance, monthly breakfasts in the Family Center where one can network and share upcoming events, ESL and GED classes, and a mentor program that helps one navigate through the job search process
The Job Seekers Program also partners with Catholic Charities West Michigan, the Grand Haven Community Foundation, Michigan Works! and other businesses within the tri-city area.
Volunteer opportunities are always available.
