What is a Corpus Christi Procession?

Why do we participate in Eucharistic Processions? A Eucharistic Procession, much like Adoration, is a chance for us to extend our worship of Jesus Christ, who is as we know, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. We know that the celebration of the sacrifice of Mass is the source and summit of our faith and life with Christ, but adoration and Eucharistic processions give us the ability to continue that celebration outside of Mass.

When we participate in a Eucharistic Procession, we take seriously the call to go out into the World, quite literally bringing Jesus Christ, truly present with us. The procession is a public profession of our faith in this true presence, through our public worship. We invite others in the community to encounter Christ by our actions, we ourselves are invited to deepen our own encounter with Christ. and lastly, we invite Jesus to be present in our lives, and in our world.

This Corpus Christi Sunday, June 11, please join in a Eucharistic Procession following the 11:00 AM Mass, where we will praise and adore Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.
