Free Tax Preparation Assistance

Provided by Ottawa County Community Action Agency

Ottawa County Community Action Agency offers free Tax preparation assistance to low-income tax filers. Call CAA to see if you qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit or Home Heating Tax Credit. By appointment only. Please call 616.393.4433 to schedule an appointment.

 When you come for your Tax Assistance Program appointment, please be sure to bring the following documentation:

  •  Valid picture ID for you, and spouse, if file jointly
  • Social Security cards for you, your spouse and children
  • W-2 forms from all jobs held in 2018
  • DHS/FIA  2018 statements or letters, if you received assistance or
  • provided childcare
  • Child support annual statements
  • Social Security statements, including the annual amount received from SSI

1099 forms and proof of other income received:

  • 1099-G forms, for unemployment received
  • 1099-INT or DIV for interest of dividends
  • 1099-R for pension income
  • 1099-MISC for self-employment income

Amount you paid in rent, and landlord’s name and address Mortgage interest statements and copies of your property tax bills if you own your home

Home heating costs from 11/1/2017 - 10/31/2018 (call the gas company if necessary)

Blank check for account /bank routing number for refund direct deposit
